Strood Green Stores

Colin Giddings:Recalls a parade of shops in Strood Green after the war; Mr Colman a cobbler, Mrs Smith a gift/wool shop and Mr Westrope a grocer.

At some stage there were two shops. One the post office and newsagent run by Mr Copley (in the 1980s/1990s) and his wife and next door a delicatessen/greengrocer which closed probably in the mid 1990s. The
Shop at Strood Green is now a community shop organised and financed by the community of Strood Green.
